Recent Outbreaks / Prevalence

A recent outbreak of TB has happened in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in July of 2013. 50,000 people in the mid-western city had caught the disease in the spring / early summer. The disease is prevalent mostly within China or overseas rather in America but is common here.

The disease can be in 108 people per 100,000 in 2010 in America (Xiaolin), but in China the disease reached a total of 85 % of people. The average age of people who lived in China with tuberculosis was 46 years old but targeted 15 years and above with the highest TB toll. (WebMD) There's an estimated 308 total suspects in Shadong, China with 42% of them being farmers and 31 % were current smokers.(Xialoin) "Total populations of the TB prevalence survey was residents 15 years or above who had lived in the selected cluster (Shadong) for more than 6 months (Xiaolin)
